Deb, I am usually blindly chasing a chore to complete without noticing anything around me. Until grief hit me smack in the face. I notice a lot more now.
Your words struck me that when I re-read a book (which I rarely do), I am always surprised by something I didn't notice on the first read. I guess the book, like life, gives us too much information to process all at once; hence, we see things anew every trip, but we have to have our eyes open. Thanks for the post.
You're welcome, Nikki. I agree...there's so much to take in every day, in every walk, every book—every moment, really. Sometimes I just look out the window and try to see what's there without any judgement. It's very calming.
Nikki, I liked your comment and I agree, sometimes a book is full and can give us a different message every time. Those are my favorite kind of books, like maybe they have a life cycle of their own too. 🤓😇
Great reminder to pay attention. Whether I was walking my dog or my cat, they both had their senses on high alert. We have to take their example to truly live in this world.
This is so beautiful, Deb. There is always something beautiful to see, to discover. We just need to quiet our minds and open our eyes to the wonder. Your writing touches my heart, every single time. Thank you. . . .

Calming...hmmm, I'll have to keep that on my radar next trip.

I think we all miss a lot of the things around us every day. Thanks for the reminder to open our eyes to catch the little things in life.
